Dark 72% Probiotic Chocolate

All the rest of the Ombar range are enriched with a variety of fruits, but in this bar, it's the Ecuadorian cocoa doing the talking. This 72% cocoa solids chocolate has an up-front flavour without being too intense. Naturally, it is enriched with extra goodness - lactobacillus rhamnosus is used in this bar to provide an additional boost of healthy bacteria.
The general properties of lactobacilli are to maintain a healthy and balanced intestinal microbiota and reduce the incidence of intestinal infections, and is frequently recommended to prevent unbalanced intestinal microflora. Based on scientific advice from the manufacturer, a quantity of lactobacillus rhamnosus is used in this product that is understood to achieve these known beneficial effects.
Coconut sugar is made from the sap of coconut palm trees; extracted once the blossom is removed. This nectar is gently heated until it becomes a delicious, rich unrefined sugar. Analysis of coconut sugar shows that it has a low glycemic index of 35 which is less than refined sugar (68), honey (48) and agave (40). Coconut sugar is not a raw food.
